Did someone that I would learn a tough life lesson?

Monday, December 22, 2014

Note:  The heading is exactly as Coco wrote it.  I asked him if he forgot a word, but he isn't very good at answering all my questions.  I would add, think/hope/wish/pray, after the word "that."  It's up to the reader to determine what word he really meant.  Good luck!

This week was hard... Let me explain hard.  Four Lessons. OUCH!!  I don't even know how many miles I walked... I don't want to know either.  It was a lot.

Like I said last week we had a multi-zone in Huancayo, where it's hot! Wow it's hot!  And they have grass! And we played soccer! For 3 hours! And that probably is why it was so much harder to walk up hills all day when we got home to Cerro.

We stayed with Elder Martinez from Ecuador in Huancayo and he was a pretty cool guy!  His companion was from Bolivia which always means shy and quiet.  But Garcia and I broke him out of his shell!  It was a good time!  For real though, if somebody knows Bolivians they are just quiet, all of them.

Then we got back to Paragsha and had the hardest week ever...  I honestly think that Satan knows that Garcia and I are always happy and joking...  He wants to end that but he can't... We are too happy!

To take care of our dog problems hemos comprado "mata pagaritos" ("We bought sling shots!) Sling shots!  It's pretty awesome! ALSO GARCIA BROKE A DOG'S LEG...  It was actually kind of messed up but it was necessary!

Other than that... all is good on the hill.  We have slowly moving investigators... But I mean they are moving forward so I can't complain!

I will see your fat faces on jueves! Navidad!  In my wool knit tie from Mishki!  YAY1

SONRIENDO SIEMPRE,

Pretty creative Christmas tree.  ....  Mason noticed the empty syringe.  He asked, "Where did you get the syringe?"  Coco replied, "The clinic."  Mason asked, "What was in it, drugs?????"  Coco replied,
"Yea... duh what am i gonna put in??? air?! There is none here!"

Wow

This week we left our investigator drought...  Por Fin!!!!! (Finally!)  I know what president means when he says that not just any missionary gets sent here...  But all that being said... I want to stay here at least one more tranfer!  Cerro has humbled me.  It took away my air.  It made me have to climb to knock every door.  To search for every person.  But I love all of that. Cerro de Pasco is a monster. But, I learned how to live with it and can see no reason to complain.

So we have 5 news this week.  Two families both want to be baptized.  Let's see if this pans out!

Also our pension went to the temple this week and we had to cook for ourselves... We made Peruvian sloppy joes...  They were good!  haha Then everyone was shocked that we didn't eat rice and boiled potatoes with it!.....  If I eat one more potato I will destroy all papas!  ¡les matare´! (They're awful/terrible.)

I wish that I had a million details to tell you all... but this week I don't...  Any questions from anyone!?

The power in Cerro ran out this week... Here's a picture!!!

This week church was illegal.  Love you Peru..

Other than that we have tried very hard to cut back on teaching crazy people..... I mean apostasy lessons are fun and all... But to be honest I don't feel anyone benefits from them.... and as missionaries it is frustrating to hear apostasy.  I don't really like it..

The best part of this week.... has been study sessions.... Is that nerdy to say?  I have been thinking about the verse in 1 nefi 2 when it says they left behind their gold and silver and the land of their inheritance.  And brought provisions, family and tents.... What are those things to us?  Why is that part in the Book of Mormon?  I think provisions are spiritual just as much as physical....  The tents are our homes; the only place on earth that can compare to the temple in sacredness.  And our families...  The people that are most important to us...  I really like this verse...  It doesn't matter to God what we have as far as money or what our inheritance.  What matters to God is not of this world.  Juan 18 something... God's Kingdom is NOT OF THIS WORLD.  So then what is it?

I'm on Fire

Monday, December 1, 2014

It is summer here..... which means the Sun hates white people.... and me.

We have been working with a man named Nicanor... He is less active and called us wanting to change...Drunk.... but now he is coming to church and he hasn't been drinking!  It makes me feel good to know people can actually change.

I was studying Moroni 7 this week... which is a really cool chapter... all of you should read it!

Today is going to be a crazy day.  We are replacing a few outlets in our room..yay...
Yesterday was crazy.... actually all of last week!  It started out with an amazing lesson with Paulina and then she came to church!  After that she told us that she thinks that this is the true church! I was so excited I was smiling during the closing prayer!

Then...

She talked to her pastor and he scared her.... She doesn't want to talk to us anymore.... why does this always happen?

Then we got a reference from a a man from the ward, ____________.  He is a crazy guy from the ward... and surprise surprise...the reference was crazy too..  He said the Book of Mormon was wrong because it doesn't start with Genesis..... again....WHY?!?!

Then.... last night we had a lesson with Pablo... who offered us food... which was nice... we politely said no because we aren't allowed to eat food with investigators or outside of pension.... He got really mad and gave us the Peruvian guilt trip for about 40 minutes...

WHHHHYYYYYY?!?!?!?

We are still working really hard though.... We go from place to place trying to contact or teach or DO SOMETHING!

Any questions or something you guys want to know about Cerro? about Hill?

I am alive. It has actually been really hot at night lately...

I'm trying to throw in lots of little fun facts.....
