Hola!

This week happened so fast I actually don’t know what to write!

Norma and Estrella were baptized this week. And it was a really cool baptism.  Norma the day of her baptism got really scared. (She thinks she is going to sin again.... which of course will happen) but she almost didn’t want to go to the baptism... In fact, on the way she almost turned back! It might have been the biggest trial of faith she has had yet! Elder Reis and I had the strong feeling to NOT swing by her house even though we really wanted to because her phone doesn’t work and so we couldn’t call to confirm everything...  In the end, she said that when she left the water she was happy she had done it! I think all converts say that which mean that to some point the spirit really does pour out onto them!

Life is great! We have interviews with President this week! And then next week we have divisions in the jungle!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm actually super excited for that

Today is the first pday that is a little more relaxed of the transfer! Which is good because my comp and I are both with a fevers….not super high…. Don’t worry mom! But we need to rest!!!

We are working with a family who is awesome!! The mom and son! Are so excited.  But the dad and sister are taking a little longer!! We need them to get married but the dad is stubborn .. so we are working on that…. I really have nothing more to say!!

WOW Huánuco is HOT

Monday, April 13, 2015

Well if anyone is wondering the misión is still a party! Our baptism for this week fell through… que triste! Her name is Norma. She told us…AFTER PASSING THE INTERVIEW that she didn’t feel quite ready... after talking for a little we found that she hasn’t been super good about reading the Book of Mormon daily… man that is important! If somebody doesn’t read the book they will never know why it is important. I always tell people that if they never eat #tocush... They will never know it’s bad.... I am actually really happy that she told us!  If she hadn't, we would have baptized her when she wasn't ready.

I am actually really happy that she told us! If she hadn’t, we would have baptized her when she wasn’t ready.

We also left Sunday in the morning to find a few news!  And we DID!!  We found another woman named Norma ... strange... she was taking the lessons 20 years ago!!!  When
I was still in the premortal world!!!  She told us she has been wanted to return to the church!!!  We also found a few people from the ward who will help us "Hermanar" our less actives... We found a girl named Claudia who we still haven't been able to visit but her  and her mom and brothers have come to the church twice!!!

THIS NEVER HAPPENED IN PAMPAS!

I am so happy that I was in hard areas… that people here are educated so we don’t have to explain in such simple ways and the people still understand the message! But there are still a few Cholitas y cholitos… who can’t read… so I’m glad I have experience teaching in the hills!

Also a wedding exploded in our faces this week. The mayor called and cancelled the day before and the couple stopped coming to church…but we learned that those people just wanted a free wedding… I mark that as a success.. I think God knew and he stopped it.

Aloha!

This week was sooooooooo Busy! I cannot believe it! We found so many people!!! 19 News!!! What?? My comp and I have to goal to have more than 50 contacts. We figure if every 100 contacts we have we have 1 baptism we can have 1 baptism every 2 weeks! That would be quite the change from my mission up til now!! The difference is that we will have a ward to support us.

I thought Conference was awesome! But have no fear, I am not going to focus on the marriage part of conference AFTER the mission. We are actually working with a family that has recently put the goal of getting married so they can get baptized. The session that they came to talked about two things a lot… Marriage and, the day of Rest. Two things that they really struggle with. But it was good! They always say they will do something and they never do. But this Sunday they did!! It was funny because the last lesson we had with them we shared a scripture from James that says we should be doers of the word and not hearers only. And when they came I called them doers! I really feel that they can progress like crazy!

We have a baptism planned for this Saturday but we have to go to Huancayo today for a leadership conference… and then my comp has to go to Lima for papers… and who knows how this week will end? But the two investigators are awesome!

Norma and Estrella! A mother and daughter! Estrella is like 9 and is so smart! We always explain like 3 times to her mom but she gets it “al toque no mas!”

My comp and I found a lady who is going to make us yarn ties of our country flags! So that’s good!

The church is true and Thomas S. Monson is God's Prophet. I'm sure of that!
