Family,

I am still alive and well!  We are doing another asado this week because we made one last week with an investigator and we have to teach him how to do it!  You should have pictures of that!  I also got a new mate which is pretty awesome.  Another photo of that will be going to you.  Life is good in the mission.  I have still not been able to lose or gain any weight.  And we made a deal with my awesome pension that she is only allowed to give us rice once a week.

This week we kind of realized that the steps before baptism are a lot more necessary that coming to church and praying.  Somebody has to repent!!!  That is a big deal!  They have to change their old habits to become new and better.  They have to WANT to go to church instead of just doing it.  They Need to understand WHY they need to be saved. They need to understand the fall.  Can missionaries really do that?  Can we convert a person?  The answers to both questions is no, we can't.  We can only set goals and checkup.  We can only Teach truths and testify.  We can only Try.  If you think about it we don't do anything the members can't do.  Interesting.

I think a lot about Lehi's dream and I like to use it to teach because it's visual.  Lehi did not and could not successfully share the Love of God (the fruit) until he had really tried it.  We cannot really share repentance until we have tried it as well in some part.  In timothy it says the Husbandmen who works in the vineyard must be first partaker of the fruits.

I know the church is true. I know that repentance works.  That God Loves us.

I will be watching Conference in English!

Alexis Will be Baptized the week after conference!

We are Alive and well!

I am looking for Christmas presents for you all!

Love you

Well family,

I guess another week has gone by. I guess I have to rack my brain to try and think which stories to tell and what not to tell. Every pday is a blessing.  I think that just about every missionary would agree with that!  The stress and the pains and the headache of the mission life could just about drive anyone crazy and it sometimes drives me crazy.  haha Last night as we finished taking numbers the four of us from my house when on to the roof to look at the stars. To talk to relax.  We drank a small mate and went to sleep.  It was nice. We all feel better after a long and hard week.
One of the things we have been doing is watch the bible videos www.lds.org/bible-videos/videos?lang=eng  For those of you who understand Spanish I would suggest watching is Spanish because it's better.

We are teaching Alexis and this week we challenged him to tell his parents that we wants to get baptized.   He is super awesome he wants us to teach his parents and he wants to go on a mission.  We are going to be doing his baptism in two weeks if everything is according to plan.

Last night we went to teach a few recent converts and it was bad.  They totally got baptized because the Elders were cool and the Elders baptized them because they were ready.  I hate that.  Many things that are counted don't count. And many things that don't count, count. I live by that saying.

This week we stopped by the elder's quorum president's house because he had a talk.  We gave him a few ideas.  A few talks and left him to do what he wanted.  He gave a great talk and I felt the spirit teach us as he spoke.  That is something that doesn't count. But it does in heaven.  And that is why we are here.
A scripture from D&C always helps 128:22-25.

22 Brethren, shall we not go on in so great a cause? Go forward and not backward. Courage, brethren; and on, on to the victory! Let your hearts rejoice, and be exceedingly glad. Let the earth break forth into singing. Let the dead speak forth anthems of eternal praise to the King Immanuel, who hath ordained, before the world was, that which would enable us to redeem them out of their prison; for the prisoners shall go free.
23 Let the mountains shout for joy, and all ye valleys cry aloud; and all ye seas and dry lands tell the wonders of your Eternal King! And ye rivers, and brooks, and rills, flow down with gladness. Let the woods and all the trees of the field praise the Lord; and ye solid rocks weep for joy! And let the sun, moon, and the morning stars sing together, and let all the sons of God shout for joy! And let the eternal creations declare his name forever and ever! And again I say, how glorious is the voice we hear from heaven, proclaiming in our ears, glory, and salvation, and honor, and immortality, and eternal life; kingdoms, principalities, and powers!
24 Behold, the great day of the Lord is at hand; and who can abide the day of his coming, and who can stand when he appeareth? For he is like a refiner’s fire, and like fuller’s soap; and he shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver, and he shall purify the sons of Levi, and purge them as gold and silver, that they may offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness. Let us, therefore, as a church and a people, and as Latter-day Saints, offer unto the Lord an offering in righteousness; and let us present in his holy temple, when it is finished, a book containing the records of our dead, which shall be worthy of all acceptation.
25 Brethren, I have many things to say to you on the subject; but shall now close for the present, and continue the subject another time. I am, as ever, your humble servant and never deviating friend,

The church is true. I know it.

Provecho Provecho! Buenas con todos!

Buenas dias con todos Provecho Provecho!
Haha every Peruvian says that almost always..
What a good week!

Alexis is doing great!  He went on a few appointments with us yesterday!  Haha.  I am trying to help him be a missionary now...  We found a triple and gave it to him so that he would have all that he needs to learn more about the gospel.  Man I love that Kid.  It's crazy how you learn to love people as God does.  I would have never learned that at home.

This is for you MOM!  This week I studied agency and repentance.

Agency:
2 Nephi 2:5, 27
2 Nephi 10:23
Alma 42:27
Hel14:30-31
Moses 3:17
Abr. 3:25

We have the ability to do what we want.  But our mission in life is learning to want to have the same will as God.  If we don't have to same will as God's its not something to worry about. It doesn't mean we are bad or that we love the devil more than God like (Cain).  It means we have to work on the attributes of Christ a little more.  Like humility 2 Nephi 31:7 and love John 14:21.

Everything we do must be done because we WANT to.  If a man does an act without desires it is better for him not to do it.  Moroni 7:5-8.

I like a scripture in Mosiah 5:2 the people go through all types of stages before they arrive at the change of heart

1. We believe.
2. We know.
3. There has been a mighty change in us.

This is what I came up with mom.

Se encuentra en 2 de Nefi(hable de noche...)

Monday, September 7, 2015

Hey Family!  And everyone else that reads this!  I hope that all is well in whatever beautiful part of the USA you are in!  I know that God answers prayers because the USA beat Peru this week and I was able to rub that in lots of people faces!  WOOOOO haha.  We were teaching a guy named Fred and he prayed to end the lesson haha and in his prayer he asked for Peru to win.  And then I told him that it's a good test to see if God listens to prayers and then Peru lost.  hahah What am I teaching investigators??

This week was great!  I am finally able to relax for one pday...  And that makes me happy.  We have to clean the room because tomorrow the owners are going to look at it later.

We were teaching a family of members this week about testimonies.  What they are, why we need one.  How to get one, how to share one, at the end of the lesson we all bore our testimonies.  And it was great!  In the moment that someone starts talking about Christ and all he has done and what we know about the plan of salvation the spirit comes.  It was with us for sure!  I am really grateful for the spirit.  Christ said he would send the comforter to us.  That he would give us peace.  Not like the world does.  I think that the Holy Spirit can only be described in that way, peace.  As if the little problems that we have aren't things to worry about.  I love the peace the Spirit brings!

I have still been speaking in my sleep. Last night I was talking about 2 nephi in Spanish.  Who knows what part.  We are going into changes this week so let's see if I stick to my normal pattern and leave this change.  I don't think I will.  I think I'll be in the cool house for a little but longer!!

This week I studied about pride.  In Helaman 4, in Matthew 20 with the vineyard.  It says something cool in 2 Nefi 31.7.  Being humble makes us obey the commandments!  I read a talk called beware of Pride!  Its really good!

The church is true.  Christ Lives.  God Loves us And knows us.  Personally.
