The crazy week I told you about

Thursday, November 12, 2015

Hey Family!

I am writing on a different day in case you didn't notice.  But there is a completely logical explanation for this. THE LAST WEEK WAS CRAZY!!
We started on Saturday at 8 in the morning we went to Huanuco!  Which was good to see again!  Lots of missionaries don't like Huanuco but I do so I was happy to be there for a day!  After we finished the Multi-Zone there we left for Tarma at like 4:00 in the afternoon.  We were in the vehicle for way too long and, the taxi driver only played Corazón Serrano. Look it up its every Peruvians favorite music, if you can call it music.  And the driver didn't have very good headlights or very good windshield wipers and when we went through the rain it got really interesting!  Anyway we got to Tarma where we ate dinner which was incredible!  We had something called brocheta mixto and then we fell asleep.  We got up the next day to play soccer with the Tarma Zone and left for La Merced (the jungle that I love soooo much).
When we got to La Merced it was really hot but the hotel room where we stay is the only room where missionaries stay that has air condition.  It makes you appreciate AC a lot more.  For the multi-zone pday there we went to Pampa Michi (a native jungle tribe where they say they want to provide a fun cultural experience but they just want you to buy their stuff and charge you way too much money because you're a gringo).  It also happens to be the only place in the mission where President lets us dance with girls, don't ask. Also the girls are old abuelas. So it's nothing to worry about.
After Pampa Michi we went to a waterfall and relaxed a little bit!  I got to spend a little bit of time with Elder Roberts and Elder Bartchi, two elders from my group!  From there we went to a place called Papapa. The best milkshake place in the mission for dinner.  While we were there at Papapa it was cool.  We were waiting for dinner, the multizones were over, the weather was perfect and I was with the other office missionaries who are all really cool.  I think I just kind of realized a little bit of all the blessings I have realized I kind of realized how powerful God is.  It was awesome.
The next day was the multizona.  After the training and everything we went again for dinner to a place called the Oxen.  It's in a part of La Merced called San Ramon.  The owners of the restaurant are British and the waiters are from South Africa and Australia. They are super cool!  Apparently they just travel around the world looking for someone who will give them room and board for working in their restaurant.  Not Bad!
Now we are back in the office and I'm making this letter and waiting for the internet to turn back on so that I can send the letter. Haha.
Sonriendo Siempre,

Elder Glassett
